Artists Statement
After gainging a BA (Hons) in Contemporary Crafts from Brighton University I now have my own studio in Newhaven where I design and make enamelled/silver jewellery and etched/enamelled copper plaques.My influences come from the environment, forms that can be found in nature, such as insects, landscape, plants and flowers, especially when seen through the lens of a microscope. In these images I look for ways to translate them into jewellery uniting sensuous shapes with the vibrancy of coloured enamel surfaces. Designs are drawn and edited before being produced into striking contemporary jewellery items.
